OUR IMPACT

SERVING THE FILIPINO COMMUNITIES

The food security crisis

in the Philippines has been a long-standing problem, with millions of children going hungry due to poverty and lack of access to food.

Through our efforts of rescuing good quality surplus food, we aim to make nutritious meals available for the most vulnerable communities.

The Philippines is one of the countries most vulnerable to climate change, and food waste is a big part of that equation.

SOS Philippines is working to prevent food waste by collecting good quality surplus food that could otherwise be part of the landfills. In this way, we are also helping the environment through lessening the emission of CO2 from those food waste.

OUR PROGRAM

RESCUE KITCHEN PROGRAM

PH_2.png

Are you looking to get involved in a community development program? With SOS Philippines, not only can you rescue food ingredients, but you can also fill stomachs!

Through our Rescue Kitchen Program, you can opt to cook and distribute nutritious meals with one of our community partners. Fixed schedule may be arranged on a weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis.

For 2023, SOS Philippines aims to serve 470,000 meals to the Filipino communities.

FOOD RESCUE PROGRAM

PH_3.png

As part of Scholars of Sustenance Philippines' goal to rescue good quality surplus food, these food items can start within our homes. Oftentimes, we stock up on canned goods and other non-perishable food items that have not been consumed and will not yet be consumed by your household.

These food items can be donated within the confines of your workplace or residential areas through the designated SOS Philippines-labeled crates. Monthly pickup will be scheduled by our designated Food Rescue Ambassador and will immediately be distributed to our accredited partner communities.

By donating a small amount of your food items to SOS Philippines, you are already helping more than one family.

Don't worry about the size of your monthly donation! Even a minimum amount will have a huge impact on feeding underserved communities.

You can set up your donation as a recurring payment so that it's easy for you and makes an even bigger impact on our mission every month.
